Slapp Symphony, a local production collective comprised of Westbrook & Let-t-Let have put together a mixed-compilation showcasing the broad and expansive talent Hawaii has bubbling under the lava rocks. This free, downloadable CD is mixed by Hawaii’s own DJ Jimmy Taco and features music from Tassho Pearce (Emirc), Slo-Mo, Kaipo Kapua, Wun, Samoan Dynasty plus more, including a remix of Michael Jackson’s Butterflies.

The fam Tassho Pearce / Flip The Bird linked up with G.O.O.D. Music’s Malik Yusef (who by the way is a serious lyricist, in case you’ve been kicking it with the Cousin Of Death) and Chicago brand / store St. Alfred to produce a limited run of t-shirts in support of Malik’s new album, Good Morning, Good Night. I don’t know about your summers, but ours are probably the best, hands down. I mean our summers seem to envelop us year round. Not to mention we’re surrounded by some of the most pristine, bluest waters in the Pacific.
